Birdfeeding: Friends of a Feather Flock Together

Today is cloudy and chilly.  It rained yesterday, but that's all -- no cladding of ice and snow. \o/  About 2/3 of the previous snow has melted off.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a large flock of starlings, a flock of sparrows, and a flock of mourning doves.

I put out water for the birds.

EDIT 1/18/25 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.

I put out more food for the birds, including a new cake of peanut suet.  I've seen two goldfinches, a male cardinal, and a male downy woodpecker.  I also saw a sparrow at the feeder with the white proso millet, which they've largely been ignoring.

I am done for the night.

Today we ordered these from the Buffalo Seed Company. This nursery offers native grass seed, native wildflower seed, and eco-friendly lawn alternatives in both single species and thematic mixes.
